Information Technology - Why Do You Want This Job?

Answer

There is a bunch of things I could say to show that I want this job, but I'm here because of what I believe I can achieve through a career in your company. It's not hard to find out that you guys have the most efficient Customer Support teams from all across Europe. I also found that two in every ten I.T. Support staff climb the ladder within this branch, while a massive 8% of all previous staff across the company in Europe started their own business ventures after learning the ropes with you guys.

My goal is to become the very best I can be in my life. I studied at a nationally renowned college and worked extremely hard to get the results I achieved. Now I want to work for a company that can offer me the practical experience to help me develop in the industry.

I have a clear vision for my future and I want to use this I.T. Customer Support role as a stepping stone to the final position I'd like to reach within your companyThis role is in line with my life-goals.

Analysis

The Interviewee gets straight to the point with their answer and outlines the reasons why they are interested in the company by using statistics. This shows the employer how much digging they did into the company and how much interest they had in the role. If an Interviewee faces a question unprepared, then they'll come up short on their answer. Make sure to do as much research as possible to unearth information that other candidates won't be armed with. The most important thing for an Interviewee to remember throughout the interview is to be the one candidate that the employer will remember. So, try to bring something to the table that will make you stand out from the rest. You can find ideas through the job specification or researching information on the company itself.

The Interviewee's perception of their own future is clear. They have career and life-goals and they seem determined to achieve them. Explaining this to the employer, while indicating that they see the company playing a huge part in their development, shows great enthusiasm and passion for both the role and the company. It also tells the employer that they plan on fulfilling a long, fruitful career within the company and an employer wouldn't hear things like that too often in this day and age.

Overall, short and sweet, but direct. When you deliver a short answer to any interview question you need to ensure you're concise and include some of the most important points that will stick out in the employer's mind.
