keep me in the loop about something
To be 'in the loop' is to be aware of information or updates on a subject that is shared by only a few people. A 'loop' is a circle, to be in the circle is to be aware of what is going on or what is happening. If you 'keep someone in the loop' you inform them of events or keep them updated on new information or events. To be 'out of the loop' is the opposite, it means to be ignorant or uninformed of things that are going on and to not be aware of what is happening. You will hear both of these terms used social and professional contexts.
