Monologue/Lecture Transcript |

Welcome, everyone. It’s great to see so many new faces, all eager to get stuck into learning. I’m sure you’re all dying to explore the campus and make new friends. There are just a few things we need to clarify before we send you off into the wild. Firstly, I presume you all got your campus maps on the way in. They’ll help you find your way around and get where you need to be. Finding your classrooms and lecture halls can be difficult, which brings me to my second point… On your way out, please form orderly queues at the Students' Union desks, where you’ll be given your unique login details for the college network. When you log in, you’ll be able to access your schedules, as well as class and faculty information. When we’re finished here, you can pick up your Student Diaries at the Registration Centre in Building 3A. As well as all you need to know about university life, your diaries also have everything you need to know about local amenities, leisure facilities, restaurants, cafes, bars, and so on. You know…the important stuff. If any of you have been assigned dorm rooms, you might be lucky enough to meet your roommates today, but not everyone could make it today, so some of you may be left wondering. Go to Building 3C for accommodation information and to pick up your keys, but remember that it’s in Building 3A that all financial issues are handled. You will not get any information on your tenancy payments in 3C. Finally, before I let you all go, I want to wish you all a happy and productive college year. I’m sure everyone will agree it’s great to return to some semblance of normality after what we’ve all been through. But please continue to observe health and safety regulations at all times. Our health is literally in our hands. Thank you all, and good luck! |
